A great day for outdoor rotational activities, here the students are waiting for their turn on the trampoline. Other activities the students rotated on were the Flying Fox, Giant Swing, Low Ropes, Climbing Wall and Archery. There were free fun activities set indoors which included fun art, table tennis, Ed’s Alley, indoor basket ball… to name a few. 20150521_163941-zw2wcp-300x225

At the Koala Conservation Centre. The children got to see koalas in their natural habitat.20150523_114659-1x6zz3m-300x225

The children listening to the ranger who has asked the children if they can hear anything in the silence. The response students give is that there is background noise of vehicles and the proximity of the road to the Koala Conservation Centre could serve as a threat to the Koalas here.- road accidents. 20150523_114804-1dbmpdn-300x225

This camp experience has enabled students to see animals in their environment, understand the threats animals face when they are taken away from their habitat and through the talk given by the ranger they have learnt about the history of Churchill Island. They will be to put this knowledge in perspective and connect it with the visual experience and the research done in class.20150523_114825-1048xpq-300x225The grey ball in the tree is a koala asleep. The children spotted koalas and kept counting as they saw one. In total there were 12.

20150523_114842-17uysbi-300x225The plastic tube seen here is to prevent koalas from using this tree for its food. The tree is preserved in the hope that it will revive and grow with fresh leaves in time to come as it has been over grazed on.
